The Challenge
The Challenge

Swedish audio design company Teenage Engineering — known for its iconic synths (like the OP-1) — wanted to move beyond niche hardware fandom and connect with broader creative culture. The mission: prove that technology can have emotion — that machines could feel human, imperfect, and underground.

WHAT WE DID
WHAT WE DID

“Machines Have Soul” — a traveling audiovisual experience and documentary exploring how sound designers, producers, and visual artists use TE’s gear to create “human imperfection” through technology. The project connected underground creators across Berlin, Tokyo, and Los Angeles, each building a track using only one TE instrument — performed live in modular pop-up spaces made from recycled studio materials.
